It's a Small World: Calling All Angels

It's a Small World: Calling All Angels

Dear Friends

The City of Angels needs more angels.

This newsletter is dedicated to those needing assistance during a time of great tragedy and a call for help from those who are able to provide some. Regardless of where you live, you might know someone who can offer a helping hand so please take a moment to read on.

Thank you for all you do. Together, we are #LAstrong

With gratitude/ps

For Those In Need

If you, or someone you know, is in need of temporary housing or simply a helping hand in formulating a path forward, feel free to reach out. No fees are needed for my time. I just want to serve my neighbors in any way I’m able; making connections, doing legwork, anything that would be helpful to you.

My brokerage, Compass, continues to gather a database of properties for immediate lease all across the southland. From the South Bay to the West Valley, the Marina to Silverlake and all communities in-between, wonderful off-market leasing opportunities - at all prices and sizes are surfacing every hour. If you or a loved one would like to be connected, please reach out.

Additionally, below are some tangible resources that may come in handy

Tips From an Insurance Adjuster

  • Get your own attorney or public adjuster. Your insurance company will likely not work to get you the most. Your representative will pay for itself even if they’re collecting 10% of your win.

  • Just like getting arrested, anything you say can and will be used against you. Speak as little as possible, volunteer as little as possible to the insurance company. Let your representative handle that conversation for you.

  • Select your own remediation company.. don’t choose somebody that your insurance selected for you because they’re ultimately going to be working for the insurance company. Having your own remediation company guarantees they're representing your interests.

You can find more information on the California Insurance Commission website. One of the keys is to begin the process quickly as most claims are handled on a first come first serve basis.

Free Temporary Housing

Airbnb in collaboration with 211LA is offering free temporary housing for residents displaced or forced to evacuate due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County.

You can get the process started at the link here.

For Those Who Can: A Call For Assistance

If you are a homeowner and are fortunate enough to have a 2nd property that is vacant - in Southern California or anywhere in the nation for that matter - please consider offering it up for short or long-term leasing. Current inventory is scarce and the need is great and will continue to escalate.

My promise is that we will find you a grateful and responsible tenant who is willing to pay fair market pricing.

You can get in touch with me here.

For those that don't have the luxury of a vacant 2nd property but still want to offer support, below you will find a number of vetted local organizations that are providing relief to Angelenos.
