It's a Small World: The Signs of Spring Fever

It's a Small World: The Signs of Spring Fever

Greetings Friends

Are you feeling any of the following? An urge to clean? A compulsion to get into the gym before sunrise? A desire to watch all seven rounds of the NFL draft? If so, just relax. It's simply a state of mind called "Spring Fever." And in this month’s newsletter I've got your back with a terrific realtor with a deep understanding of the politics of D.C. real estate, three upcoming local events that will remind you just how diverse LA is, and a first look at a new listing in Pasadena.

Now about those Jets...

YOUR D.C. REPRESENTATIVE: MEET LOUISA GILSON DAVIS

Before becoming a realtor in 2016, Louisa Gilson Davis worked on Capitol Hill, tirelessly communicating with constituents, striving to keep them informed on what their representatives were doing. As a realtor those skills come to bear on a daily basis as she keeps her buyer and seller clients fully informed across all aspects of their real estate journey. Fun fact: Louisa and her now-husband got engaged in the Rose Garden, during a private White House tour he had set up.

You can meet her in the short video below and if you are interested in the inner workings of Capital Hill or about real estate in the D.M.V. market, I’d enjoy making an introduction.

HOME IS WHERE THE FAMILY GATHERS

As we gather to celebrate Passover 2024, I’m remembering a long-ago Passover at my Aunt Joy’s house. I can still vividly remember the windows looking out on the backyard, the placement of the elongated table, the hiding of the matzah, the large chunk of horseradish I mistook for jack cheese and the immediate buzz I felt after slamming my 1st glass of Manischewitz to douse the fire in my throat.

Whether your family gathers together for Passover, Easter, Ramadan or the first round of the NBA playoffs, home can be a lot of things; a roof over our heads, a place to recharge, an investment in our future, and most of all, a place to create a lifetime of memories.

WHAT’S UP, LA?

May is the last month before our teenagers are released into the void so here are three very cool experiences to take in before summer vacation and the crowds arrive.

Netflix is a Joke Festival

Beginning May 1, funny will be happening across 35 venues; from the Bowl and the Wiltern, to the Improv and the Orpheum. Netflix is a Joke festival features such big names as Jerry Seinfeld, Ali Wong, Chris Rock and Taylor Tomlinson and includes the taping of the G.R.O.A.T. (the Greatest Roast Of All Time: Tom Brady).

LA County Fair

L.A. has changed immeasurably since the first LA County Fair in 1922. However, the perennially popular event still has farm-friendly appeal (livestock beauty contests, local produce) alongside the more modern acrobats, wine tastings, exhibitions and oddities like deep-fried butter and hot sauce. And it has recently moved from September to May to avoid that blasted heat of Pomona.

Kraftwerk at the Disney Hall

Beginning on May 21 and stretching for nine nights at Walt Disney Concert Hall, legendary German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their album Autobahn. Each night will feature one complete. Concert number nine will be a finale with groundbreaking works spanning five decades of the Kraftwerk repertoire.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF AN AGENT?

After 40+ years of representing the best interests of my clients, I’ve learned a few things. First and foremost: it’s about YOU not ME. My role is simply to help you get clear on your goals, provide opportunities that help you reach those goals, and then ensure you achieve those goals as effectively as possible.

If you know someone who could benefit from that level of advocacy, I'd be grateful for an introduction.

Thank you.
